In light of the recent senseless death of an 11-year-old in Wisconsin due to her parents' destructive faith, and the fact that the Congo's government is about to vote on whether it's a crime for parents to declare their children "witches" and thus abandon them, I'll quote Sam Harris: “The president of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. If he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive.”

“The difference between atheists and religious people is that atheists are aware that our personal happiness is entirely up to ourselves and not some imaginary friend.”

What? The differance, with the..T? This was the probably the most generalizing and stupid quote I've read the last month.

Epsilon Clue: Where Are all the Reflective Christians? - “These people do believe in a magic man in the sky who helps them find their car keys /…/ So why aren’t the intelligent, reflective Christians telling them they’re full of shit?”
.
One answer is that we don't think they are full of shit. Full of shit are instead people who fight wars/commit killings/discriminate in the name of God.
.
I don't think believing in prayer is mean/evil.
