To distract everyone from the fact that I seem completely unable to write anything remotely interesting today, here, look at these unbearably cute newborn chickens!
They were hatched (a couple of years back) in the same incubator we hatch our honeybee queens in, for the record. Originally, the purpose of the machine was vaguely medical, if I recall correctly…
Hopefully there will be more chickens this season.

We had baby chickens at the children’s museum I used to work at, they are pretty adorable aren’t they? Our were usually 100% yellow but one time we had one like the one at the front of you photo and dubbed him “ninja chicken” because of his little “bandana”

Yellow chickens are really cute but I’m a big fan of variation; I love to see a flock of hens (like the ones these cuties grew up into) with different colours and patterns. Same for chickens, it’s like their individual cuteness is enhanced when they’re all clearly distinguishable from each other.
